Kinda amazed how I almost crossed everything off my Christmas to-do list! This week was jam packed with Chicago's holiday festivities, and I haven't even gone home yet. I am flying south tomorrow morning (Christmas Eve - wish me luck!) for 9 days - it will be the first time I've gone back home since I moved here. There are so many people I am looking forward to seeing for the next few days, I might explode from giddiness. Spending the holiday season in the city has just been phenomenal, and am looking forward to continuing it for years to come. But home. Nothing beats home.

Wishing everyone a Merry Christmas and safe travels!

I got a present for you, the last holiday mix of the year:

1. Lady December - The Concretes
2. The Friendly Beasts - Sufjan Stevens
3. I'll Be Home for Christmas - Frank Sinatra

the Mission District.

the Mission District. the Mission District. the Mission District. the Mission District.
It's always an adventure trying to get to the Mission District of San Francisco. I'll just leave it at that.
It's not necessarily a tourist attraction, but the blogs have spoken and say that it is the hippest area of the city -  and they are quite true. From the one-of-a-kind boutiques and shops to the most buzzed about bakeries and coffee shops to the art that is found on every street corner - it's full of inspiration and overwhelms you that you'll never get to experience them all in one trip. At least that's how I always feel.
My mom and I popped into a few shops, revisited ones from last year, and got some much hyped about ice cream from Bi-Rite Creamery.

Muir Woods & Sausalito.

Muir Woods Muir Woods Muir Woods Muir Woods
It seems like the last two times I went to San Francisco, a visit to Muir Woods was always cancelled. Thankfully not this time.
It's a truly enchanting and majestic forest. The redwoods in all their height and age are humbling. Makes you sort of feel like an ant.
We ended the day across the bay in Sausalito (yes, like the Pepperidge Farm cookie) a quaint sailboating town that has a spectacular view of the city.
